Register a School

2021 Regional and National Geography Olympiad
1. Secondary Schools are expected to register online. The contest will also be online (estimated 2hr exam)
2. Each school is expected to present as many students as possible for the competition.
3. Only students between the age of 16 and 19 years are eligible in each school.
4. Questions will cover Physical, Human, Regional, Map Reading, Multimedia and Field Work
5. The contest can be done on desktop or smart phone connected to the internet
6. Mock Exam – 27th July and the main Olympiad  30th July 2021
7. The Olympiad will be held in each registered school and only registered schools will receive the exam link. 
8. ANG members will visit and supervise the registered schools as guided by the ANG Zonal Representatives.
9. Results will be announced at the ANG National Conference.
10. Performance rating
  a. The best 3 performing schools and students in each region will receive online ANG Regional iGeo Badges of Recognition.
  b. The best 3 performing schools nationally will be recognized at the ANG National Conference and given the ANG National iGeo Badges of Recognition.
  c. The best 3 performing schools nationally will receive N100,000.00, 50,000.00 and 20,000.00
11. The best performing schools nationally will qualify to participate in a Boot-Camp in preparation for iGEO 2022.

Please note that it is only a school representative can register a school (registration is only for schools). Registered schools will then receive the exam link to register students who will then compete  at the Regional and National  Olympiad.

Winners that emerge will represent Nigeria at the International Geography Olympiad (iGeo). 

Each participating country organizes the regional and  national competition as pre-qualification for the International Geography Olympiad (iGeo). The Regional and National Geography Olympiads are coordinated by the In-Country Olympiad Taskforce and ANG Zonal Coordinators.

The International Geography Olympiad is held under the auspices of the International Geographical Union (IGU) through the IGU Olympiad Task Force.
